Targets for full gigabit connectivity in many geographic markets are looming ever closer, and the deployment of full-fibre or fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) networks is accelerating at pace in order to meet demand. In Europe, statistics from both the FTTH Council Europe and the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association (ETNO) put FTTH coverage in the continent at more than 60%.

Some of the challenges now for fibre optic network owners and operators include tackling more rural deployments, a higher degree of caution from private investors, and the network deployment or upgrade itself, particularly in protected rural areas, or areas in which legacy infrastructure such as ducting already exists, as any repeated digging and construction work on roads would not only be disruptive, but also unsustainable.

Then there is the ever-present last-mile problem, in which the fibre optic cables must connect from a central hub or distribution point directly to individual properties. This can account for a deployment’s biggest cost and time constraint, with regulatory and logistical challenges adding complexity.

This webinar looks at how cabling solutions and advancements in access technology can help operators to overcome these challenges, exploring dense cabling solutions, in particular this webinar will focus on Prysmian’s advanced microduct cables, SiroccoHD and SiroccoExtreme and last mile solutions, specifically designed to deliver connectivity in an efficient and cost-effective way to the last mile of the network.

Who should attend this webinar?

This webinar is ideal for C-suite executives and other decision makers within network designers, owners, operators, and ISPs, involved in the deployment and management of FTTH networks. It will also benefit fibre engineers, project managers, and anyone working on expanding gigabit connectivity. Private investors and stakeholders in the telecom industry can also benefit, particularly those concerned with rural deployments and infrastructure upgrades.
