The PT5 Polarity Tester from JGR Optics is now capable of testing 72 fibre ribbon cables, singlemode or multimode, in a single box, expandable up to 432 channels.
The PT5 can significantly improve throughput in a production environment where an efficient and error-free method is required to test and confirm the correct polarity of trunk cables. Applications include manufacturing, cable assembly testing and quality assurance inspection.
The PT5 is an easy-to-use instrument with a simple software package that can manage unlimited custom cable types. Within seconds, the software will provide simple pass/fail results for any ribbon configuration including type A, B, C, D and custom profiles.
“The improvements made to the PT5 Polarity Tester can significantly improve throughput in a production environment but, even more critical, provides compatibility to high fibre count cables which are now commonly deployed in data centres,” said Mark Berezny, senior product line manager at JGR Optics.
