New from AFL is the FlowScout PON optical power meter for network activation, testing and troubleshooting of passive optical networks.
For use on networks including BPON, EPON, GPON, 10G-EPON, XG-PON, XGS-PON and video, FlowScout automatically detects up to five wavelengths and measures power in a few seconds. It includes a visual aid to help technicians choose the right testing location to ensure the appropriate testing limits.
The power meter can detect multiple wavelengths automatically with no setup required. It simultaneously detects and measures upstream and downstream GPON, XGS-PON and video signals, and evaluates and displays pass/fail status relative to expected minimum/maximum signal levels.
It is complete with optional field-swappable port saver connector adapters and has a large daylight viewable color touchscreen display. The meter is also designed to be rugged, with a water resistant rating of IP54 and a rechargeable Li-Polymer battery.
