Just a year after launching its fibre-to-the-home offer, Italian operator, iliad is continuing to expand its fibre coverage and is now close to reaching 10 million properties.
The company attributes this to the effectiveness of the agreement signed with former rival, Fastweb last year, allowing access to its wholesale FTTH network.
The deal has allowed iliad to further consolidate its presence in the Italian FTTH connectivity market, with the aim of reaching more than 10 million premises before the end of this year.
For Fastweb, the deal added an important customer to its wholesale portfolio, which has seen customers exceed 400,000 premises.
iliad says that it will guarantee new users on the Fastweb wholesale network speed performance with downloads of up to 2.5Gb/s and uploads of up to 500Mb/s thanks to the FTTH GPON network technology.
