The FTTH Council Europe has announced the opening of registrations for the FTTH Congress Balkans, a premier event aimed at bolstering fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) deployment in the South-East of Europe.
This new initiative, which complements the annual FTTH Conference, is designed to spotlight and support the unique opportunities and challenges of FTTH expansion in regions of Europe which deserve greater attention, starting for its first edition with South-Eastern Europe.
The event will be held on the 29-30 October at the Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel, Dubrovnik, Croatia.
This two-day congress aims at gathering up to 500 key stakeholders from the region and broader European markets, including high-level executives, telecom operators, investors, policymakers, and vendors. Attendees can expect a dynamic program featuring high-quality speakers, insightful content, invaluable networking opportunities, and a compact exhibition showcasing the latest FTTH products and services.
Why the Balkans?: The South-Eastern Europe region represents a significant opportunity for FTTH investment and roll-out, with approximately 3,827 million homes still awaiting fibre connectivity, according to the European FTTH/B Market Panorama 2024. This fragmented and diverse market is ripe for collaboration and growth, driven by the EU accession process for several Balkan countries and supported by EU initiatives like the Western Balkans Investment Framework, which emphasises digital infrastructure development.
What to Expect:
- Expert Panels and Discussions: Engage with up to 50 senior thought leaders and industry experts who will delve into the critical drivers of FTTH deployment in South-Eastern Europe, including country-focused analysis and keynotes from governmental representatives.
- Networking Opportunities: Connect with C-suite executives, directors, and key decisionmakers from across the region and Europe.
- Exhibition: Discover the latest innovations in FTTH technology and services from leading vendors.
- Policy Insights: Gain a deeper understanding of EU support programs and their impact on the digital infrastructure landscape in South-Eastern Europe.
