Cheshire is set to gain further infrastructure investment thanks to full fibre provider brsk, who are adding the town of Runcorn to their broadband footprint in the North West. As the second largest alternative network following a merger with Netomnia, this announcement will see almost 30,000 homes and businesses across the town able to access the fastest and most reliable type of broadband available in the UK.

Having passed an impressive 250,000 premises across neighbouring Greater Manchester, and extending their rollout into Cheshire, including Wilmslow, Handforth and Poynton, Runcorn is the latest area to benefit from access to better broadband. The addition of the town to their roll out will see brsk pass almost 45,000 homes in Cheshire.

Speaking of the project, Regional Head, Gareth Cornelius said,”Having expanded our network across Greater Manchester, Cheshire and recently St Helens, we are delighted to now be expanding further across the North West and bring our award-winning broadband services to Runcorn. For too long the town has been overlooked by the major incumbents, and we feel it’s borderline criminal that the people of Runcorn have so little choice when it comes to good quality and affordable broadband options. By bringing our full fibre services to the town, we look forward to establishing ourselves as the broadband provider of choice for the people of Runcorn."

Having recently launched an innovative customer service platform on Whatsapp, and winning “Best Urban Fibre Provider” category at the 2024 UK Fibre Awards, residents can look forward to a brand new independent network that delivers an award-winning service, symmetrical upload and download speeds, and guaranteed no mid-contract price rises.

Nationally brsk has passed almost 600,000 homes on their network, across West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester, Lancashire, The Black Country and South Birmingham. New areas within Calderdale, Lancashire, Merseyside and Cheshire have recently been added to their network, with further area announcements to follow soon.
