Service Providers, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), Silicon Vendors and open-source App Developers will be given the forum to accelerate global developments and unveil future innovations, as the prpl Foundation brings it’s Summit to North America for the first time on May 21st, 2024.
Hosted by AT&T at their headquarters in Dallas, Texas, the day will begin with technical workshops and demonstrations presented by key prpl Foundation members. Demos will include Airties, Beegol, Bitdefender, Capgemini, Gemtek, GlobalLogic, KAON Broadband, MaxLinear, Origin AI, Sagemcom, SAM Seamless Network, Smith Micro Software, SoftAtHome and Streambow. Presenters of the hands-on technical sessions include: embeDD, Essensium/Mind, prpl, SoftAtHome and Vantiva.
“We are delighted and honoured to be hosted by AT&T for the first ever prpl Summit Americas,” said prpl Foundation President Dr Len Dauphinee, also MaxLinear Vice President and CTO, Broadband Group. “Through the event, we hope to grant thought leaders from across the industry an opportunity to share their successes and groundbreaking solutions atop prpl’s unique Service Delivery Platform. Ensuring Operators’ commitment to service-driven innovation on Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) through deployment remains our greatest objective.”
Collaborative demonstrations focusing on the full prplWare suite, including prplOS, prplMesh and prpl Life-Cycle Management (LCM) will also be presented by the prpl Working Groups.
For manufacturers, app developers and operators, prpl will provide hands-on sessions that highlight the instrumental role played by silicon vendors and OEMs, as well as technical topics ranging from containerised apps and services and USP distributed management and control, to LCM, prplMesh Wi-Fi, and Security Assurance.
The prpl Summit Americas afternoon sessions focus on topics relating to business and membership. Following introductory remarks from prpl Foundation President, Dr Len Dauphinee, on the ongoing ambitions and mission of the organisation, attendees will be able to hear from our keynote speaker, Yigal Elbaz, from host AT&T SVP Technology & Network Services.
Four roundtable discussions will also take place, led by major Operators, App Developers, System-on-a-Chip (SoC) Manufacturers, and OEM members spanning the length and breadth of the industry. Full details regarding the agenda of the Summit, including the remaining afternoon sessions and the individuals and companies participating, can be found on the prpl Foundation’s website: https://prplFoundation.org/prpl-summit-americas-2024/.
The Summit is co-located with the Network X Americas conference. Between May 22-23, Broadband Service Providers and Operators engaged in carrier-grade open-source deployments will present prpl’s “Unlocking the Potential of the Broadband Gateway” morning briefing. They will also participate in the “Telco to Techco Transformation” Panel on the Network X Americas stage, to deliver a comprehensive framework of new services and applications.
Network X attendees also have the chance to hear members AT&T, Orange, and Verizon deliver multiple Operator-led “Connected Home” focused keynotes, as well as a panel discussion covering topics related to their sessions, open-source Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) initiatives, and software-based services.
