ADVA, in partnership with Acacia Communications has successfully completed a trial to transport 300Gb/s of data per wavelength over a 6,800km fibre link. The link is typical of a cost-optimised submarine cable using 300Gb/s channels and a commercially available transponder with real-time digital signal processing (DSP).

Angola Cables has entered into a strategic business partnership with Silica Networks in Argentina and Chile to connect their terrestrial fibre networks to the recently commissioned South Atlantic Cable System (SACS).
