Ensemble open technology a ‘key component’ for Fujitsu managed networks solution

LONDON, UK – Ensemble, a division of ADVA, announced today that Fujitsu is using the Ensemble Orchestrator and Connector as a key component of its EMEIA managed network services offering. Fujitsu is leveraging Ensemble's network functions virtualisation (NFV) technology to deliver its Virtual Edge solution to business customers across multiple countries. Virtual Edge will be hosted at the customer premises on commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) white box servers.

Fujitsu embraces modularity with disaggregated optical architecture

Stepping away from traditional chassis-based designs, Fujitsu has launched a new optical platform based on functional disaggregation. The new 1FINITY platform, which will be available globally, will enable service providers to take advantage of flexibility and modularity in the hardware domain, complementing the flexibility and modularity that has been developed in software with software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualisation (NFV).
