FPT Telecom enhances Vietnam network

Network provider, FPT Telecom is aiming to build a more resilient network and manage rising residential broadband traffic across Vietnam. 

The provider’s infrastructure covers 59/63 provinces and cities in Vietnam and has expanded globally with 46 offices in 22 countries and territories abroad. An enhanced network will enable customers to access and experience digital content more easily.

FPT selected a number of platforms from Ciena for the expansion works. The 6500 Packet-Optical Platform powered by WaveLogic Ai coherent optics was incorporated to help increase the network capacity and provide real-time link performance metrics. Meanwhile, the manage, control and plan (MCP) domain controller was chosen to help eliminate manual steps in the upgrade and operation of the network. Assuring network performance is made possible with multi-vendor visibility and analysis provided by route optimisation and analysis (ROA) from the Blue Planet division of Ciena.
