Chorus chooses Nokia for new trial under ‘One Open Access Network Infrastructure’ vision

New Zealand service provider, Chorus has collaborated with Nokia on an open access network infrastructure designed to help fulfil on-demand service for optical services.

Based on emerging MEF Layer 1 standards, the Nokia wavelength service was selected to aid Chorus with the delivery of fully instrumented, standards-based optical services to existing customers, whilst facilitating new channels to market.

Latin America gets into the Groove with InterNexa and Coriant

Latin American connectivity infrastructure and ICT solutions provider InterNexa, has teamed up with Coriant to successfully complete an open optical transport field trial featuring disaggregated 100G and 200G transmission over third-party optical infrastructure.

InterNexa operates a ring-based optical backbone infrastructure that supports IP and wholesale transport services throughout South America, with more than 49,000 kilometres of optical fibre interconnecting Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina and Brazil.

Verbund selects ADVA FSP 3000 to enhance Austrian backbone network

European hydropower energy producer, Verbund has deployed the ADVA FSP 3000 with the aim of enhancing and future-proofing its backbone network. The vendor’s optical transport technology was chosen to help boost the capacity of Verbund’s national infrastructure to 10Gb/s and enable 100Gb/s connectivity between its data centres, in order to help provide Austria's electricity through entirely renewable sources.
